Absolutely lovely stay! Sheila and Guy, the owners were delightful, very welcoming, friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating! The house itself is beautiful and traditional, but very spacious. There is a lovely dining area and sitting area both with fireplaces. Our room was big and comfortable; the bathroom had a bathtub and a high-tech shower. Breakfast was included and it was absolutely delicious! Really enjoyed our stayed and would happily go back! Highly recommend!

“Welcoming stay in a peaceful 16th century B&B”

Both Guy and Sheila were delightful and very attentive hosts; nothing was too much trouble for them. They were considerate and determined to make our stay as pleasant as possible, which it was. The breakfasts were delicious and locally sourced. The beds were very comfortable and afforded an excellent night's sleep, it was also very quiet in the area. The building itself, dating back some 5 centuries, was interesting and although we were not able to use it much, due to our programme, the available lounge was well appointed and comfortable. The fittings were modern where appropriate and the bathrooms very smart. There are many activities and things to see in the area and local hikes along the ridge with views across the Wye valley are recommended too.

3rd time we have stayed here. Love the attention to detail and the fact that we are remembered along with our "quirks". Sheila and Guy are wonderful hosts. We will be back.

We had a lovely time staying here! A fascinating and beautiful historic building where we were truly spoilt by the owners, Guy and Shirley, who provided fabulous breakfasts and freshly baked cakes every day, and were super generous with their knowledge about the local area and the estate itself. We stayed in Foxwhelp, which was very comfortable and had a lovely big bathroom with modern facilities. It was the perfect place to relax after canoeing, hiking etc. Highly recommend.

Charming 16th century Tudor property bursting with history set in fantastic grounds. Proprietors Sheila and Guy go above and beyond to make your stay one that you will remember, from homemade cake and tea on arrival to a breakfast sourced with vegetables grown in the grounds and beautiful locally sourced ingredients. The food was second-to-none, Sheila provided us with homemade ginger cake in our room and ground coffee for our own cafetière. Absolutely amazing hosts, rooms spotless and beautiful. Bathrooms with high-end luxury fittings; shower with steam setting and fabulous deep bath. We can’t wait to return.
